WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
In Rwanda's rural areas, health challenges for women and girls are severe. Teenage pregnancy affects about 7% of girls aged 15-19 and gender-based violence impacts 20% of women, worsening their health and reducing empowerment. There is a need for more sexual and reproductive health services.
Education in tech is also tough for rural women. Only 20% have basic digital skills, and even fewer access advanced tech education. Women make up less than 30% of those in STEM programs, limiting their chances for higher-paying jobs and innovation.
In agriculture, over 70% of rural women work in farming but face significant barriers. Only 10% use advanced methods like irrigation or hybrid seeds, reducing their productivity. Providing agri-tech skills is essential for improving food security and economic stability.
OUR CAMPAIGNS

Girls Coding Academy
In Rwanda, where nearly 40% live in poverty, only 28% have internet access. The gap is even wider for women, with just 19% having access to technology. Women in rural areas, especially those from poor families, teenage mothers, and survivors of abuse, face significant barriers to education and opportunities. Girls Tech Ventures is committed to changing this by building a Girls Coding Academy to empower these women with tech skills. This academy will be a lifeline, opening doors to new opportunities and brighter futures. But we need your help. By donating, volunteering, or providing resources, you can help us make this vision a reality and ensure no woman is left behind in the digital age.
OUR ECONOMICAL EMPOWERMENT CAMPAIGN
Agri-Tech Scholarships
We offer scholarships to young female students to study advanced agri-tech methods such as irrigation, hybrid farming, and pivoting at IPRC Gishari. These students will return to their communities equipped with the skills to provide agricultural support to women farmers, fostering economic growth and sustainability. We need your support to keep these initiatives thriving. Whether through donations, volunteering your time, or providing resources, your contribution can make a lasting difference.
